ocho loco

Located in Wimberley, Texas—the heart of the Texas Hill Country—this project for life-long musicians consists of two guest cabins designed for family and friends to stay at Ocho Loco.  The two structures are connected by covered and uncovered decks creating a series of moments that capture views, sunlight, and shadow throughout the day.  The overall design emphasizes framing views of the surrounding hill country, a century-old live oak, and a neighboring barn. The material palette directly references the barn’s weathered oak siding and corten roof, grounding the new structures amongst old.  Rigorous intention to the aligning of battens and framing members creates a subtle visual rhythm and beat.
