stratford creek

MGD’s first project that started the firm in 2011. A new build along with a small addition years later provide a tree house feel set within nature. Built on a lot deemed “too steep for construction”, the house is designed to float above and frame views of the creek below. Designed for just turned empty nesters, the project features a main house for daily living and a separate guest house for visiting family and guests. The two buildings are connected by a carport. The guest building can be “turned off” while not in use saving energy. The multi-purpose addition below becomes a surprise destination and puts one further into the creek. A completely private outdoor shower caps off the living in nature experience.
